SiGnS oF SpRiNg....

To our surprise, we found this sweet little nest in our hanging basket on our porch! We had noticed a lot of bird action by our front door. I was pretty sure something was going on. I just wasn't quite sure where they were building their nest. I then peeked into our hanging basket full of artificial geraniums. I spotted the nest but found nothing in it. A few weeks had passed and I thought I would check again and there it was, this adorable little nest with four tiny eggs! So fragile and so precious! I immediately got the boys and held them up so they could see in the nest and witness this little miracle of life! How lucky we are that these birds chose our porch to make their home! We get to hear hear their cute little bird songs in the morning and watch them sit in our tree throughout the day. Many mornings the boys go sit on the porch and watch our little birds. They say they are going bird watching! Cody is always wanting to feed them and comes up with funny ideas of food for them, like popcorn seeds!

Oh BoY......

These are the things my life now consists of....

Three boys.

MuD....

Lots of MuD. Add a few more boys.
Tons of muddy clothes & shoes, hand prints and footprints all over my freshly clean kitchen & bathroom.
Toys that were once nice, new and clean.
Construction workers.
Lots of time-outs. He wasn't even on there five minutes before he fell asleep!
And plenty of smiles to melt my heart and remind why I love being a mother of 3 boys!

FrUsTrAtEd MoM sEeKiNg HeLp...

Today I am so overwhelmed. Not with three boys, just one. Landen. He is the cutest, sweetest little boy. He is also a tyrant! I am having a hard time knowing as a parent how I should handle him. So any advice please! Here is the run down for bath time tonight. Now this all happened within about 30 min. I have all 3 boys in the tub. Wash all of them, then get Crew out. Cody & Landen always stay in and play until the water is cold. I leave them unattended but I am in the next room. I can hear everything that is going on. Usually! I am getting Crew dried off & lotioned up. I can hear a lot of commotion in the bathroom and I know something is up. Then just as I am finishing with Crew and about to go check on the boys, I hear Cody yell to me that Landen just threw 2 rolls of toilet paper in the bath. WHAT!!!! I go in there and Landen is on the counter, crouched down next to the sink. I have no idea what he was doing nor did I ask. I grabbed him and threw him in his room. Let me remind you that this is not his first offense of the day. We are on like the 10th! I am getting Crew's diaper changed when I then hear Cody say Landen just threw a towel in the bath. What the crap! He was supposed to be in his room! I freak, grab him by the arm and throw him back into his room. Yes people, I threw him in his room, technically the bed! I am so mad, so done, so can't wait for Matt to get home and rescue me. While Landen is in his room he proceeds to do more damage. He covered one of his books with stickers. They did not come off easily. The book was new so I am a little ticked about that. Then he opens the door and says to Cody, "I just broke your ship!" Cody had left a Lego ship he had built in the room. I have nothing left in me. I don't know what to do or how to handle it. This is how my entire day has been. I typically have trouble with him several times everyday! So anyone, please, please give some advice as what to do. What am I doing wrong here? I don't like who I am when I get mad at him. I don't know how to get threw to him either. He seems to not care about what I think or say to him. Matt has named him Captain Destructo.

BaCk FrOm A LiTtLe BrEaK....

My friend Nikki reminded me that I had not blogged for awhile and needed to post an update. I know I have been a slacker. Just so many other things are always needing to be done and by the time I get the kids in bed and do have a chance to sit down and blog, I just want to go to sleep!

So, I am going to start with our trip to Colorado in February. Our reasons for taking this little, last minute trip were not just for family fun. My cousin's wife, Jennifer passed away. I was not close to her or Damion but I really wanted to be there to support the family. The Funeral was on Valentine's Day, of all days! But it was a beautiful funeral none the less. It was so great to see everyone-like a little unplanned family reunion.

We stayed at Matt's parents house and accommodations were perfect! We had so much fun spending time with them and the rest of Matt's family. We did make it over to see my Dad a few times. We tried to take some pictures of all the grandsons together for my Dad. That was pretty funny! Monica taught us a really fun Dominoe's game. We had to go buy it when we got home. We play it every night. Cody is awesome at it. We don't play easy on him either! My Dad had a really fun game too. It is called, Ticket to Ride. We want to buy that one next. I love games! The last thing we had to do before we headed back home from Co. was go to the Lego store. Cody is in LoVe with LeGoS! We have tons, but it never seems to be enough. So of course we needed more! Right! I do have to say, I was just as excited to take the boys as Cody was. I love watching all the excitemnet in thier eyes. We stayed for about an hour, checking out everything, making careful decions on how to get the most for our money. The boys each ended up buying Lego's by the piece. They each got a cup and you fill it until no more can possibly fit. Matt was very helpful in making sure every last possible spot in that cup with filled! I was getting caught up in the moment and wanting to get some myself! But I restrained! We then hopped in the car and headed home. We only stopped once, in Grand Junction. That was it. AMAZING! The drive to Colorado was full of bathroom breaks, snack breaks, nursing breaks, you name it, we stopped! We now have a system down that works for us, so car trips should no longer be so painfuly long!

Here are some pics from the trip....

I LoVe To SeE tHe TeMpLe....

Last Monday, Matt took the day off for me. He did this to make up for not spending the day with me on my Birthday, since he was away skiing all weekend in Park City. I have been wanting to go and see the new Draper Temple. I figured if I didn't go today with him, then it would never happen! I also thought this would be a fun experience for Cody. He is always very interested in the Temples he sees when we are driving. We had reservations for 12pm. My Mom watched Landen and Crew for us. This way we could focus on Cody and enjoy our time alone with him! This entire event was very organized. We started off at a meeting house, where you watch a short film about the Temple. Then a tour bus took us up to the Temple. It happened to be a very cold, snowy, foggy day. So I did not get any good shots of the Temple. The bus dropped us off and you walk through a covered, heated maze that takes you all the way to the Temples front doors. So we did not have to be out in the cold one bit. I thought that was pretty cool. Once inside, it was so warm, and peaceful, you could instantly feel the spirit. It was so awesome. So uplifting. The volunteers were so sweet and loving. Everyone kept commenting on how handsome and sharp Cody looked! He would get so shy when anyone tried to talk to him. Cody was so cute. He wanted to be right in between Matt and I the whole time. It was a very special day. So fun to be alone with him. It is rare now to get much one on one time with the boys. After the tour of the Temple you go to another church just across the street, there you get refreshments! And can any ask any questions, if you have any. Our bus then picked us up and took us back to church where our car was parked! So nice and so easy! I later asked Cody what his favorite part of the Temple was, he replied, " the room with the big, big, ball hanging from the ceiling, not the one with the really big mirror! The one with the mirror is my second favorite!" He is talking about the Celestial room, it had a huge chandelier, that is absolutely beautiful! Then the Sealing room, another room that was is beautiful with the mirrors . If you have not been able to attend the open house yet, I recommend going. It was a wonderful experience!

LaNdEn'S 3 rd BiRtHdAy....

Today is my sweet, little Landen's Birthday. He is 3 years old! I really just wish I could make time stand still with all my kids. I never want them to grow up. At least in my scrapbooks they will be my babies forever! Landen is the sweetest, snuggly, funny, smart, witty, wild, boy! I love him so much. I have such a speacial bond with him. I love to just curl up with him. His cute face and sweet slobbery kisses just melt my heart. He comes up with the funniest things to say. He is my little joker! He is such a momma's boy! And I would not trade him for the world!

We actually celebrated his Birthday with my Birthday on Sunday. We had a little party for him at my Mom's. Just us, Mom, Dan, Trevor, Shari and Thaxton. He wanted a Transformers party. I made his cake, and it was so much fun. I love making cakes! I usually do character cakes but no one makes a Transformer cake pan. So I was on my own with this one. My MIL gave my a supply box full of cake decorating supplies a few years back. I was so excited and in cake heaven when she did! Well, I decided to put all that supplies to good use. I made my first 2 layer cake with a creme filling. So cool. Then I smoothed out the white icing, piped a few decorations on it, Bumble Bee, and a Birthday wish! It was seriosly so much fun and tasted so good! Okay, back to Landen! He got great gifts from all the G&G's Thank you all by the way. His cake, and Bumble Bee Transformer from us. It was great fun and I loved that I could share my day with him!
