WhEn Is tHaT BABY dUe....

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my weekly check in. I was happy to find out I am dilated to a 2 and 50% effaced. I am only 35 1/2 weeks and I measure 38 weeks! Maybe that is why my ribs hurt so dang bad! The Doc is also estimating an 8 lb. baby! OUCH!!! I so don't want that. But they did say the same about Lando and he was nice compact 6 lbs. 8oz. I really just want to go NOW!!!! But I must be patient. He did however have me set up in induction date with the Hospital for Oct. 17th at 8am. So if all my hard work fails at least I know I will no longer be pregnant after this date!

WhAt HaVe We BeEn Up To?

In the past few weeks we have just been surviving. Or I have! We have still been going up the canyon for Sunday dinners to cook out. All the pictures are on my Mom's camera so I have none to show. This is a favorite new tradition for our family. The boys really look forward to it. So do I. I love to be outdoors.
Last weekend my cousins threw me a no baby shower Baby Shower. They really wanted to give a a shower but I just felt like I have everything I need and did not want to make people feel like I was taking advantage of them. I was very flattered that they were thinking of me and this sweet little baby on the way. So we instead had a really fun girls night. We met at my aunt Jorjajna's got Pei Wei take out and had a blast! It was so fun. I love hanging out with my family. This group of girls is so fun. So thanks to Alisa and Shayna for thinking of me! Once again I don't have any pictures but my aunt was taking some so I need to get them from her.
Cody is still totally loving school. He is so dang cute. He loves to do his homework. His teacher gave us a list of things to do for homework and you have the month to complete it. Well Cody wanted to do the whole thing in one night. So we spread it out into 2 nights! He is so smart and just flies through everything. When I ask him what he liked at school for the day he always says, "Everything!"
Landen and I have had some nice one on one time everyday now since Cody is in school. He really missed Cody. He always wants to go get him. Landen keeps me very busy. He has the shortest attention span ever. So we go through a million things to do while Cody is gone. Right now he is really into playing games. We play Candy Land and Shoots and Ladders everyday. He is good. He usually wins!
Matt is still working a ton of hours. I never see him. Neither do the boys. But he has really been making an effort to spend one on on time with them when he is home. Cody has really loved this.
This weekend Matt took Cody to the Koni Challenge and Mazda Atlantic at Miller Motor Sports Park. Cody really loved this as much as Matt did. They also went with Justin and our neighbor Jamie and his son Izaya. It was nice for Matt to get and have some guy time.
As for me. I am miserable. I am huge and so ready for this baby to be out! I have been drinking Raspberry Leaf tea and Nettle tea for a week now. Also taking Dr. Christopher's prenatal vitamins. Started walking on the tread mil for 2 miles. Eating pineapple and spicy foods. Reading about maternity acupressure. And whatever else I can get my hands on. I really do not plan to go more than 2 more weeks! I have never gone past 38 weeks so I think my chances are pretty good. So does my doctor. He asked me if I wanted to set an induction date for 39 weeks and I told him no way. I will not be pregnant that long to need that! He agreed with me.
So besides all that things are good. Just trying to get things ready around the house, scrap booking as much as I can, got new tires for the Tahoe, have dinner meals planned until December and just waiting ever so patiently for this baby!
Here are some random pictures for your enjoyment!

CoRnEr On CoRn......

This year we planted corn for our first time. We didn't plant much. Just one little row on the side of the garage. It was not the best spot for it. It was a little shady and didn't get much water. We also did not pay too much attention to it. But we got CORN!!! Too bad most of it was eaten by skunks or raccoons. Not sure who the culprit really is! We would wake up in the morning to find stalks ripped down and corn ripped open and chewed down to the cob! So before all of our corn was stolen from us Matt went and got what he could. This one and only picture I have is of our yummy nice sized piece of corn. I was impressed at how big it got and how good it tasted. Matt isn't too appreciative of his picture being posted up on here but like I said this is my only picture. I can't believe it either!!!!

SmAsH LaB.....

This is a show on TV. If you are not familiar with it, it is about 4 people that are doing different experiments to try and make things better that can protect us. . That is a VERY vague description but Cody loves it and is always wanting to try out his own experiments. I had bought him a book of different science experiments but that is no longer enough. He had some big plans the other night after he and Matt watched a show of Smash Lad. After the show ended Cody told Matt that he needed to go to the store where you buy parts and wood and they have the big race car carts. He is talking about Lowe's. He then told Matt he needed to go there so he could buy 3 pieces of wood and some cones. With the wood he then wanted to cut it all up into little pieces and stack them. Then he would use his crane truck to knock them down. The cones were to let people know that there was work going on and to stay away. He even drew up some plans and he had a checklist of the different materials he needed. This was during the week last week when they watched the show. Everyday after he would talk about when he and Dad were going to do this experiment. He was waiting for Saturday because he had no school. Friday night comes and Cody is telling me how he needs to get his plans ready for Saturday when Dad is home! Saturday morning he had his plans ready and placed on a clip board. We take him Lowe's and we get his supplies. On the way home I was not feeling well. Big Surprise! Cody tells me that when we get home I should go lay down and get some rest so he can spend time with Dad! How sweet! Of course I will do that Cody! So Landen and I went and took a nap while Matt and Cody borrowed a saw from our neighbor Jamie and got to work cutting wood and completing the experiment. I wasn't there to get pictures but I did get some of the aftermath. Cody had so much fun. He is so funny. When he gets an idea in his head he does not let it go! I wonder where he gets that from....hmmmmm.
