Well, as usual, I am just a little behind on blogging this but who's keeping track? So about a month ago I took Cody to the Circus for one of our mommy/son dates. I have not been to the Circus since I was a kid. I remembered it was exciting and magical and could not wait to take my kids someday. I bought my tickets online. Love that by the way. I surprised Cody that morning with my plan of going downtown for the Greatest Show on Earth! I took him to the pre-show where you can meet all the clowns and try on costumes, stuff like that. Next we walked around the venue and checked out all the Circus garb they sell and somehow found myself buying him a $10.00 slushy! I was clearly not in the right state of mind. We found our seats which were not bad but not great. We sat in the lower section on the far end. At 2pm the lights dimmed and the Ringmaster started the show. Cody was so excited. I loved seeing his reaction to each new event. I on the other hand was not so impressed. Things have changed a bit since I was a kid. So many things are fake now. Or maybe it was always fake and I can just tell the difference now. :) I did love the super, crazy bendy girls. So amazing what they can do with their bodies. Cody was most excited by the guys who ride motor cycles inside a cage. He told me we had to get video of this cause Dad would love it! In conclusion, it was so much fun to spend time alone with him and do something I knew he would love. I did tell Matt when I got home that next time around he is taking the kids to the circus. I had my fill for quite some time. :)
My handsome blue eyed boy.

Getting sweet tats.

These guys on stilts were awesome. They got skills.

Costumes! Just the jacket alone was incredibly heavy.

Cody's favorite clown.

the beloved slushy

Love my boy!

The Greatest Show on Earth!

Sorry, horrible pic, but this is the motor cycles guys.

I do enjoy the Elephants. So cute!

Another bad pic but this guy rides his motorcycle on a tight rope with this chick sitting on a swing.

Trampoline people. It looks so fun I wanted to go jump!

And this concludes our fun day at the circus.

This post is all about me. Sort of! But mostly me. :) As most of you  out there know I love to bake. However, I choose not to bake very often cause I am not blessed, like my mother, with a high metabolism. I would be huge! You all know the saying, "you are what you eat". Anyway, as I was saying, I love to bake. Particularly I love to bake cakes. Recently my sweet sis-in-law Shari had a birthday. So what better way to wish her a happy one! I whipped up a double layer cake with seedless raspberry jam between the layers and the best butter cream frosting EVER! I also love frosting! :) I tinted the frosting pink, because I love pink and covered the top of the cake with fresh daises. This is Shari's favorite flower. I am also a huge fan of the daisy! This cake turned out so dang cute. And by for the most simple one I have done in quite some time. I hope she loved it! I know I did!

So,This morning Matt happened to be watching out the kitchen window and sees a salesman- who frequently sales fruit in our neighborhood, walking up to our door. We immediately go into stealth mode and pretend no one is home. Matt turns off the radio, we tell the boys to be quiet and we all sit very still! Don't get me wrong, the fruit guy is very nice and we have purchased his fruits many times. However, he is also persistent and we had no cash for fruit today! Every time we hear him knock Crew lights up and Landen wants to get the door. We keep telling them shhhhh! Crew will put his little pointer finger up to his lips and say shhhh! over and over, it's adorable! Then Landen starts asking me questions, like-why can't we open the door? Why don't you want to answer it? My response was that we know it's a salesman & I hate dealing with them. I didn't want to tell him it was the fruit guy, then he would really not understand why we wont open the door. I then say- the guy is salesman and just wants to sell us garbage! Landen looks at me and says. "garbage? You mean like treats?" (let me explain, see I call treats & junk food- garbage. Like-you need to eat something healthy, all you have had today is garbage!) I tell him, no not treats. Then Landen says, "you mean just the wrappers?" I can not contain myself. This boy cracks me up! I start laughing and tell him no again. I gave him some brief examples of the stupid things they try to sale and the conversation is over. But every time I think about this I can not help but chuckle to myself! :)

Landen's First day of Preschool....

On September 2nd Landen started out on a new adventure
to go to school and get some knowledge.
Knowledge Explorer Preschool
He has been wanting to go to school since
Cody was in Kindergarten.
He would cry the whole way home after dropping
Cody off at school. So sweet.
Landen loves his preschool so much.
He tells me he wishes he could go everyday.
even Saturday!
When Cody was in Preschool we paid
a lot of money for him to attend
Avondale Academy.
Which I totally loved-don't get me wrong!
But I have to say, this home based preschool
Landen attends is better!
We all love Mrs. Beck & Mrs. Smith :)
On his way to school! So excited.
Landen & his buddy Luke
Already hard at work!
Everyday they practice writing their name when they get there.
Landen has been doing great!

Cody's First Day of School...

On Wed. Aug. 25th our Summer ended
and a new School year began.
Cody is now in the 2nd grade.
My, how time flies! I feel like I was just in second grade.
I remember it vividly.
Cody is out in the temps this year.
At first he was not at all happy about this
but after meeting his teacher and checking out the classroom
he started to really like the idea.
His teacher this year is Mrs. Kruger.
This is her first year teaching.
Cody seems to really like her and she is great with the kids.
Ty. Paige and Cody ride their bikes to school everyday.
I love that he has so many great friends around him.
He has even made some new friends this year.
Among them his favorite is Seth.
Everyday I hear all about him and how funny he is!
They have even made up some funny voices
that they like to talk to each other in.
Can I tell you how annoying this is!
I have told him he can use this voice with his friends but
not around me! I am so mean, I know.
The other day I apologized to my Dad for how annoying I must
have been as a child. He seemed to find that funny! :)
Crew Has become quite the little chatterbox these days. He will also mimic anything you do. He is such a ham! Recently we bought root beer for a BBQ we were having. He kept asking me for something, I thought he was saying bear? Then He pointed out the root beer bottle to me and started saying bear again. I then got it! Beer! He is saying beer. It was so funny. Then this morning he brings me a cup and is asking me for beer, beer, over and over again. I can't help but laugh. It just sounds so funny coming from such a small child.
