MuD bAtH...

Today we went out to get yard work done before Cody had to go to school. I decided it was a good day to work on the front yard since it wasn't so hot out. But in the front they don't have much to do and I don't want them out in the street. So I let them dig in one part of my garden that I usually don't feel like I have to worry to much about. I was working away and they were being so good. They were just digging and looking for bugs and so on. Then I hear Cody say to Landen that they should make concrete. I still feel like things are under control and I am going to let them do this. They were making it in a bucket. ThEn!!! I look over and they have a full fledged mud hole going on and are covered in mud. They are throwing, jumping, squishing, spreading mud everywhere. They had it all over them, all on the side of the house, down the front stairs, in the grass. Seriously everywhere! My sweet neighbor came out to visit me and bring me some water while this is going on. She tells me she wishes she would have been more relaxed like me when she was raising her kids. She says I am such a fun mom and loves watching me with my boys! I am thinking.... if she only knew! I am not the cool mom that lets my kids do this. I hate the mud. They are lucky she came over. That is the only reason I am not yelling at them. She did however give me a different perspective on this. Also reminded me how fast they grow up and these will be precious memories. So I got my camera out and made a memory of it instead of freaking out and ruining the moment! I am glad I did. It was pretty cute and funny after all. It also just washes off with water!!!! Imagine that!

thanks for the perspective Rachelle, it made me think. I need to chill out a little bit.

I think we all wish we could be that cool and relaxed Mom, but the truth is there is so much worked involved! Good job on letting them make a mess this time. Boys do love getting dirty.
