Pizza and S'mores...Oh, My!

Well, here we are in the middle of July and I have not blogged since Spring Break. 

Wow! Time flies. 

So I had blog posts ready to go and never did post them.  

I know these are old but thought it would still be fun to post. 

You know, for posterity! Lol 

Grandpa & Grandma took us out to eat at our

or should say the boys new favorite pizza joint. 

Pirate Island Pizza! Rrrrrr! 

This place to them is what I think Casa Bonita was to me as a kid. 

Loved that place and never once saw how lame the food was 

or how bad the prizes were at the ticket counter! 

The excitement I see in my boys eyes as they collect their tickets makes 

the whole experience worth it. So fun!

We work hard for our tickets and I have taught them to check 

every game for coins or abandoned tickets. 

This is where we have our most success! :) 

Later that night we got us a fire going and had some s'mores! 

Y-U-M-M-Y!!!

The boys were so funny picking out prizes. They would have all these tickets and pick little things that were like 1 or 2 tickets. Then sit there and try to decide what to do next. They would do the same thing over and over again! You could tell this girl loved her job! lol

Landen's First Trip to the ER...

We are on vacation and we never go on a vacation to St. George without one of my boys getting sick. Then in turn means we make a visit to the insta-care or in this case, the ER.

Landen had an ear ache that came on so suddenly. 

He was playing and everything was great then the next minute he was crying and telling me how much his ear was hurting.

I had him go lay down and he ended up taking a huge nap.

After his nap he proceeded to cry for hours regardless of medication. 

Next thing I know it's the middle of the night. 

I am worried and go wake my Mom to see what we should do.

I then ask her to get my step Dad and see if he would give Landen a blessing. 

By the time they get back to my room Landen has finally fallen asleep. 

Peace at last! 

Thank goodness, I was ready to lose it! 

The whole next day goes by, he seems good.

The middle of the night rolls around and so does Landen.

This time he is crying worse then ever.

I then see blood coming out of his ear.

I know immediately what has happened.

Perforated  ear drum.

I know first hand how horribly painful this is.

I then decide we need to take him in. 

Of course it has to be the middle of the night and no where to go except the ER.

Bummer!

Landen was a great patient. 

He even got a Popsicle. :)

Chemistry 101...

Grandma Nette is always prepared.

No matter what the situation, she is ready.

That even goes for a week long Spring Break with 3 boys!

She was ready for us with many activities, plans and yes,

science projects.

This is right up Cody's ally!

The first project we took on was Volcanoes.

We started with the salt dough. This will be used to build up the sides of our Volcanoes. I love Crew in this picture. He thinks he is one of the big boys for sure!

Cody was very hands on.  Landen...not so much!

Finally Landen gave it a try.

But didn't really like it. Didn't want to get his hands all messy. Whatever?

Just the smell of the salt dough brought back so many memories. My Mom was always making salt dough for us, and she was always using it to make ornaments, bowls, decorative tops for jars, all kinds of stuff. She would sell it at craft shows.  Craft shows! Man, that really takes me back! lol My Mom could do a whole post just on that and all the crazy stuff she would sell!

After the Volcanoes dried Cody & G-ma painted them.

The next day it was time for the chemistry part!  Grandma had a recipe that she got online. A cool chemical reaction that would happen after mixing the solution with the baking soda.

Success! The Volcano erupted!

Now it was Cody's turn.

Again...we have success!

The next project we took on was...

SLIME!

Do any of you remember GAK?
Well, if you do the slime we made was the same exact thing.
It was really easy to make and pretty cool!
I loved Gak as a kid.
I can't believe I paid money for it, but hey I was 10 or so! :)
  We made green and blue slime.
Again, Landen was not down with getting his hands dirty.
So weird to me, since he will play out in the mud and other gunk.
But Cody enjoyed the whole process and had fun with his SLIME!

Happy Easter!

Our beautiful Easter morning began around 9am.

It is so nice that the boys are sleeping in.
The Easter Bunny managed to find us all the way down here in St. George.
Phew! Some of us were worried!
He left us lots of goodies & toys and even shoes!

It was a pretty relaxing day.
Watched conference, ate candy, played games, played in the water,
Landen came down with an ear ache, watched movies, ate more candy,
went on an Easter Egg hunt, Cody tripped & fell in the rocks, ate more candy,
took naps, had eggs on toast, watched more conference, Landen crying for hours,
taking Easter pics with the boys,
and to end it all we had an awesome Easter dinner together!

Crew was so funny with his squirt gun. He finally figured out how to shoot it but just didn't figure out to face it the other way! He would squirt himself in the face every time!

Crew was so good to sit and watch Conference with Grandpa.
