On Saturday we headed out to Zions to do some hiking around with the boys. I LoVe when we go to Zions. This is one of my most favorite places on Earth. So peaceful so beautiful even spiritual. A few years ago I got to hike Angel's Landing with my step-Dad, Dan. Truly amazing!!!!
We all arrived at Zion's around 2 pm. Met Dan at the entrance then we all piled in to one car! This was cozy and a bit crazy! It was raining and a little cool so to pass some time we ate our picnic lunch in the car. It was also cozy & crazy! But so fun. We had no room to move around and we are passing food back & forth. This was driving Crew nuts, he would see it pass by his face and would want it so bad! He kept trying eat Cody's zinger. After lunch the rain had cleared up so we decked ourselves out in hiking gear and headed for the bus. This time we went to Emerald Pools. This hike was awesome too. A very easy hike to take kids on. The boys had so much fun. They kept telling me how awesome it was. At first Cody was a little hesitant because on the bus ride in Zions they tell you about the park and the different things you will see, they also mention some of the animals you may see. One of them being rattle snakes. This definitely concerned Cody. He kept telling us that maybe this was not such a good idea, that we should go back, we need to turn around. It was a little funny to me that he was so worried. We all had to convince him that everything will be fine. Then Landen started saying, "I think I hear a rattlesnake. What do they sound like? " My kids crack me up! So back to the hike, you get to emerald pools rather quickly and it is sooo beautiful, a little oasis in the desert. The water coming off the cliffs felt like rain. The boys insisted on getting out the umbrellas so they could walk under the falls. We made it through the little water falls then hiked up and out the other side. We hiked to the grotto and then kept going until we were back out to the main road and were picked up by the bus. I borrowed and Ergo baby carrier from a friend, I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved this carrier! It was so comfortable to wear and Crew didn't mind it at all. In fact he was so content the entire time, he was in there for about 3 hours. This baby of mine is such a little angel. I just love him to pieces!!! He was a great hiking buddy. :) Landen was talking the entire time and was so funny. He has such a funny personality. I needed a note book on the hike so I could jot down all the goofy things he kept saying. Cody is more serious but still very fun, he was really into checking everything out and keeping us moving. At one point Landen said, "why are we even doing this hike anyway?" Cody said in reply, " to have fun!". And fun it was. I know I am not even capturing all the fun, silly things that were said and neat things that we saw but this was for sure a memorable experience for us all. I was ready to go again the very next day!

Absolutely beautiful! Looks like it was perfect hiking conditions. We really need to take a day trip to Zion's sometime when we are down there. We were supposed to go today for a few days but I took Hunter to the doctor yesterday for croup and he ended up testing positive for the flu. I guess St. George will have to wait. :(
